My reflection to this course

          At first time that I know name's course, I think this course is very difficult and then it was that after I learned. Teacher taught many content to me, but I can't understand all. It may be my potency that not good enough. The contents that I can understand very well are Fact&Opinion and Strategies of finding main idea. This course made me to be punctual because everyday it will start to learn at 8.30 am. I like teacher's method of teaching because she will give freedom to answer of students. If it is incorrect, she will not blame her students, but she will put them right. Sharing idea with friends is good thing for me because it made me know that friends's work and my work are different or the same. It is thinking each other for finding the best answer. Finally, this course made me use English more than especially writing skills. If it is possible, I want to learn with Aj. Usa again on next term, I wish.

          Today I just learned 2 hours about Reading News Articles. This news articles is about Facebook. Teacher asked me to answer the questions after finished.

Question 1 Even if you block information shared from your site, how could your personal information still be made public? I think I will opt out on either Facebook and partner sites.
Question 2 Do you think Facebook should automatically share your info, and only refrain from doing so if you know about it and go into your setting to opt out? I don't think so. It shouldn't automatically share because my info may be used into bad ways. I will refrain it if it's that by setting privacy, not public for my sharing.
Question 3 This article states " Facebook want to make money by selling user information" Do you think that is their motive for sharing your info? I think that is their motive for sharing my info, but I don't like them because this sharing is worldwide, sometimes I may meet a bad person to contact me, I fear this.

Finally, teacher asked me to write a reflection to this course in my blog. After finished this course, I want to learn with her again on next term.

                 Today I learned about Reading Editorials. Mostly it contains news about what is happening in our city or our country on the first page. First, I learned news about two light transit cars collided, then I learned news about ObamaCare. Teacher asked me to tell the what you learned from Mr. Barone's commentary. I think this commentary made me know that I should think conscientiously before bought something. If you think conscientiously before bought, you will get it worthily. I think this class was quite difficult for me, but I will try to understand it.

          Today I learned about Reading Advertisement. The general advertisement included type of product, brand name, word&phrases with positive connotation, important product features, target audience, and theme line. I think it is important for the audience. It was quite easy  for me. After I learned, I have more understand about this. Finally, teacher asked me to find advertisement and answer that follow in sheet.

          Today I learned about Book Reviews. It need to know title, author, publisher, what is the book about, what was the best of the book, what was the bad of the book. After I learned I had homework about this. I think it's quite difficult because it need to read a long time that I don't like it. When I read a long time, it made me confuse. However I will try to do it.

                 Today I had the test about facts and opinions. After I finished the test, I feel good because It was quite easy for me. Then I learned about Author's purpose, Author's tone, Author's point of view,and Author's intended audience. I think It was quite easy. If you attend like me, it will be easy. Finally, teacher asked me to exercise, 10 questions. I think it was the challenge for me.

                   Today I learned about The First Grader. Teacher asked me to write the word that concern with title before learned. Then she asked me to practise about this. I think it was easy for me because I summarised this last week, so I can understand. Finally, she asked me to discuss with friends about immigration of my group. I think this discussion make me understand because I shared idea with my friend.

          Today I learned about Learning Experiences. Before start, teacher asked me to do pre-learning with my friends. I think pre-learning make me understand before learn. It's quite easy. Then teacher asked me to watch video about First Grader. This video is about a person who fight for overcoming himself of his past and fight for freedom of his country. His name is Kimani Maruge. He's Kenyan. Finally teacher asked me to summarize this video. I really enjoy in this class.

          Today I learned about The Age of Immigration. This lesson teach about getting into the topic. At first, you should read the first sentence and think of a question that you expect this paragraph to answer. Second, you read the article, stop at the end of each sentence that contains bold face text and follow the instructions in the box in the margin. Third, you check the main ideas of each paragraph. Finally, you should look back at the article to answer the following questions. I think it was very difficult for me that in the same last week, but after I followed step by step, it made me understand more than ever. I will more try and more practice next time.It's really challenge for me

                           Today I learned about Main Ideas. It's the most important idea that a writer expresses in a paragraph. EHFT(Early Hypothesis Formation and Testing) is strategy of looking for the main idea. I think it was very difficult for me, but I will more practice to do it. Finally I had quiz about fact and opinion that it's a quiz of last week. I think I can do it because it's quite easy for me. I really happy for my quiz in this time.

           Today I learned about Facts and Opinions. First, teacher asked me to list facts and opinions in group. Then she explained about this. A fact is true statement that we can check or prove. An opinion is what a person thinks about something that we can't prove to be true or false. I think this lesson is easy for me(opinion), but it's impossible(fact). Finally teacher asked me to pactise about this. I feel good after I have already leraned.

          Today I learned about Popular Culture Critical Reading. Before learned, teacher asked me to list about sushi and find vocabulary. Then she asked me to practise about origins of sushi and popularity in the United States. Nigiri zushi called in Japan, but Maki zushi called in US. However, they are healthy foods in the same. I think maki zushi is delicious more than nigiri zushi because it's various of ingredient; fresh crab, shrimp, octopus, and so on. I was hungry after I have already learned. Finally teacher asked me to conclude this lesson.

          Today I learned about Introduction to Critical Reading. First, teacher asked me to see painting Mona Lisa and tell about my thinking to this painting. I think this painting was sad and happy in the same time. I see from her eyes. Then teacher explained about critical reading. Finally, I had a quiz about this. I think my quiz is not good because I don’t quite understand, but I will more attend next time.

                Today I learned with Asst. Prof. Dr Usa Noytim again. First, teacher reviewed last course and asked me to work with group about “What is Critical Reading”. Then teacher explained about this. Finally, teacher asked me to evaluate myself about critical thinking and tell about my feeling to this course. I think this course is important for me in my future, but now it’s quite difficult for me. I hope my critical reading skills will be better after I have already leaned this course.
